Custom Direct is transitioning into a world-class organization using lean manufacturing* and Baldrige criteria**. The company looks at lean manufacturing as a systematic approach to identifying waste and then eliminating it. The LEAN Committee (TLC) drives the lean manufacturing program at Custom Direct.

Lean Enterprise Institute defines lean manufacturing as :“a business system for organizing and managing product development, operations, suppliers, and customer relations.”

**As defined by Baldrige National Quality Program, the purpose of Baldrige criteria is "to enhance the competitiveness, quality and productivity of U.S. organizations for the benefit of all residents."
